Leevale athletes were again in fine form on St. Patrick’s Day, taking to the roads in strength.  The inaugural Paddy Desmond Memorial 5k road race was held in Ballinhassig, while the Market Tavern 60m Dash was held in conjunction with the annual Parade in Cork city.

It was a clean sweep for the Leevale boys under 12 in the shot put, Zack Gibbons took gold with a throw of 7.98m, while Daire Walsh improved steadily through out the competition to finally throw a 7.88m to secure silver and Eric  Stam took bronze with a throw of 7.60m.

Leevale athletes were well and truly spread out at the weekend, including the European championships in Madrid, the Kit Kat All Ireland schools in Dungarvan, the national short course championships in Dublin and the Ballycotton 10.
