Leevale had three athletes competing in the KitKat Tailteann Schools in Santry last Saturday. Conditions were terrible with the athletes having to endure wind and driving rain. Leevale paralympic athlete, Orla Barry, recently set a new European Senior Record of 27.98m in the discus at the German Open National Championships, held in Berlin on 7-8 June. This is a phenomenal achievement for Orla who has held the European record of 25.24 since 2006 before improving to 26.26 earlier this year.
