Just 6 days after striking bronze at the European Championships, Mark Carroll broke the Irish 3000m record at the Ivo Van Damme Memorial IAAF Golden League meeting in Brussels. Mark’s time of 7:33.84 was just under 4 seconds better than Eamonn Coghlan’s 18 year old record. The race was won by Haile Gebrselassie of Ethiopia in a time of 7:25.09. Mark finished 5th (Results).
