For Mark Carroll of Leevale it was a case of third time lucky on American Thanksgiving Day when he took part in the Manchester (Connecticut) annual road race over a distance of 4.75 miles. For the past two years he has recorded a second place finish in a race that has seen Eamon Coghlan, John Treacy and John Doherty amongst the past winners. Taking the lead with a mile to go he confidently dismissed the claims of the others runners as he won in a time of 21.49. The whole race was run in heavy rain. Girlfriend Amy Rudolph was second in the womens race, with Breeda Dennehy-Willis from Bandon back in sixth. (See More Results)
