Mark Carroll ran the race of his life to capture the bronze medal at the European Championships in Budapest on Saturday, August 22nd 1998. Mark (right in picture) finished in 13:38.15 less than one second behind Isaac Viciosa and Manuel Pancorbo, both of Spain. Mustapha Essaid of France was 4th, with former Olympic Champion Dieter Baumann of Germany back in 13th place. All at Leevale congratulate him on such a fine achievement and wish him the best of luck for the remainder of the season.
