Mark Carroll’s run of successes in the 3,000m at the famed Millrose Games finally ended tonight when he was pipped for a fourth successive title. There was a thrilling finish to the race which saw Olympic 5,000m silver medalist Paul Bitok just get the edge over Mark. Bitok’s winning time was 7:43.81, a new record for the eleven lap per mile stadium, with Mark timed at 7:44.73, and American Dan Browne third in 7:46.94. |
