The Munster BLOE cross country championships, were held in Ennis today, and apart from a shower of rain at the very start of the programme, the day was sunny and ideal for competition. William Harty of Ring Old Parish was first to take the lead, and after half a mile he had a thirty metre lead, a lead he was to hold to the finish. Behind him Patrick Guidera of Clonmel gave chase alongside Niall Duncan of Togher and Ian Donovan of Leevale. The latter was first to drop off the pace, with Duncan fading shortly after. Fergus Meade of Glenbower improved his position, with Thomas Kennefick of Leevale going with him. Going out the last lap Kennefick was a clear fourth, catching and passing Duncan with 200m to go to take third place, and leading Leevale to team honours.
