 Carrignavar’s Valerie Lynch, running fro Western Kentucky university had another good run over the weekend. Running in the Pre Nats race in Indiana she finished a close third in a time of 18:00. Fellow Cork athletes Olga Cronin was 32nd (19:09), caroline Daly 37th (19:14), Terri Hennessy 47th (19:22), and Lisa Cronin 69th (19:41). Apart from Lynch the others run with East Cork. Irish athletes found the going very tough in the mens race, with Vinny Mulvey from Dublin, who is at Iona College, 40th (24:59), and the Leevale pair of Barry Egan (shown right) who is also at Iona 170th (26:20), and Paul Carroll of Villanova 229th (27:41). |
