| Leevale’s James Grufferty finished 7th in a time of 55:23 at the Irish Sugar Mallow 10 mile Road Race this week. The race was won by Jamie Lewis of Finn Valley in an impressive time of 49:17. Cathal O’connell was third with 52:26, followed by John Griffin in 52:56, Peter Maher of St. Finbarrs 54:23, Toddy Finn 54:27, Shane Simcox of North Cork in 55:03, Grufferty in 55:23, Ger Mullane of Limerick in 55:30, Martin Hasssett of St. Catherines in 56:37, and Paul Dinan of St. Finbarrs in 56:33. The womens race was won by Mary Sheehan of Grange Fermoy in a time of 59:52, well clear of Angela McEvoy of St. Finbarrs in 62:28, followed by her clubmates Mary Sweeney in 62:58 and Mary Murphy in 63:41, with Brid Murphy of Leevale fifth in 69:23. |
