The Munster senior and vets track and field championships were held in sunny Castleisland today, and it proved a very successful day for Leevale junior Jer O’Donoghue. O’Donoghue won the 100m in a PB of 10.84 ahead of Bandon junior Darren Coughlan. Four runners were in contention with 300m to go in the 1,500m, with Alan O’Connor of Clonmel leading the way. With 100m remaining Garrett Barry of North Cork raced into the lead, but O’Connor would not give up and regained the lead close home to win with Brian Keane of Leevale third.
