Derval O’Rourke finished 3rd in her 100m hurdles heat at the World Junior Athletics Championships in Chile today. Derval’s outstanding time of 13.61 gave her a new Leevale and National Junior Record, in addition to a place in the semi-final’s as one of the fastest losers. Derval was quick out of the blocks, with the 2nd fastest reaction time of all participants in the six heats, and the 9th fastest overall time. Derval’s heat, the fastest of the day, was won by Susanna Kallur of Sweden in 13.13, with Joni-Ann Doyley of Jamaica second in 13.46. Derval shattered her previous record by 0.2 seconds. |
