| Martin McCarthy of Leevale was in action at the BMC meet in Stretford this week, clocking 13:55.89 in 10th place for 5,000m. The race was won by Kenyan Okworu, with Seamus Power again returning a good performance in second with 13:37.27, just a second behind. Peter Matthews was 17th in 14:04.38, with Gary Murray 22nd in 14:58.95. Ken Nason was fifth in the 800m at Stretford with a 1:49.98 clocking, very much keeping alive his claim for a place in the 1,500m at Sydney. |
