Ireland’s leading ten mile road race, the Nike Ballycotton 10, has finally been re-scheduled for 24th June. Normally held in early March, this year’s race had to be cancelled due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease. The organisers have given considerable thought to numerous dates for the race, but, for one reason or another, their new date is deemed the one that least affects other competitions. Ballycotton will, however, be keeping an eye on the FMD situation and will only allow the race to go ahead if there is no further problems in that area. Original entries will stand for the new date, and all entrants will receive written notice of the new date. No new entries will be accepted.
