Best of luck to Damien Dunlea who competes on the Irish team at the Celtic International in Dublin next Sunday. Damien put in a storming run at the All Ireland cross country championships in Rostrevor, county Down before Christmas, beaten just inches by Colin Costelloe, a far more experienced runner.A big thank you goes to everyone who helped on the Leevale Flag-Day on the Friday before Christmas. It’s hard work – starting off is the hardest – but it gets easier as time goes on. All monies collected go directly into the running of the club. It might be well to remember that none of the officers – the people who do all the registrations and entries and anything else that needs to be done – get paid any expenses for their hard work. Most actually cover the cost of anything that needs to be done.
