There were several excellent performances at the Celtic Games in Tullamore on Saturday, with Kate Fitzgerald again in winning form in the under 15 girls shot putt. Kate took the lead with her first throw and held on for another great win to conclude a great season for her.
Donna Hosford came very close to her PB in the under 17 long jump, finishing a very creditable fourth with a jump of 5.39m in a close competition.
Orla Coughlan is having a great season in the sprints and continued her good form with an excellent second place finish in the under 15 100m.
And new Leevale member Carl McNamara was another in winning form, taking the under 15 long jump with his first jump of 6.13m. He also finished third in the 100m.
Great performances all round by the Leevale crew, while other Cork performances saw Nicole O’Regan take second in the under 17 300m hurdles and Katey Byrd take fourth in the under 17 80m hurdles.
