Well done to Ailis McSweeney and Darren O’Donovan who won Sports Scholarships at UCC, Ailis for the first time and Darren for the second time. And to Paul O’Flynn who won a Sports Bursary from CIT.
Well done also to the girls under 10 team who won the team contest at the Cork B cross country championships at Carraig na bhFear. All eyes on them again next Sunday when they compete at the Munster B championships at Limerick Junction.
And Leevale was well represented at Silversprings hotel last Friday when Cork AAI acknowledged the achievement of Cork athletes who represented Ireland over the past two years. Receiving awards were seniors Martin McCarthy, Fiachra and Cathal Lombard, MArk Carroll, Ailis McSweeney and Jer O’Donoghue; Juniors Aisling Maunsell, Brian Murphy, Darren O’Donovan, Jessika Zebo, and Mark Hanrahan; Vet Carmel Parnell and Honorary member Derval O’Rourke.
