The Irish Universities track and field championships were held at a sun drenched Santry stadium, leaving everyone wanting more of this fantastic weather.
Highlight of the meet was a fantastic performance by Niamh Cremin (UL) who led all the way for a superb win in the 400m hurdles in a time of 62.39.
Carl McNamara, representing CIT, was second in the 100m in 11.19 (w-0.7) and third in the 200m in 22.20.
Deirdre Murphy (UCC) had a busy time in the field events and came home with silver in the shot (10.21m), third in the discus (35.37), fourth in the 8kg for distance (7.25m), seventh in the javelin and eight in the hammer.
Jessika Zebo (UCC) just missed out on a medal in the 400m with a fourth place finish (57.08) while Katey Byrd was eight in the 100m and Thomas Maunsell was ninth in the 5,000m.
