Leevale fielded a number of teams in the County Juvenile Even age Cross-Country Championships today in Carrigdrohid. In near perfect weather conditions on a well laid out track Leevale athletes performed well.
Girls U12: Louise Shanahan ran an excellent race to finish in second place while Eirne Ni Dheasunaigh finished a strong fourth. The team finished second overall with 38 points.
Boys U12: Peter Fagan and Luke Hogan were always at the front of the field and were part of a breakaway group of four, with Peter ultimately finishing second, just overtaken in the run in while Luke finished in fourth place. The team finished first overall with 42 points.
Girls U14: Shauna Fagan led the race from the start to a comfortable win. The Leevale team finished in third place overall with 48 points
Boys U14: This was the debut cross country race for Donnacha O’Neill who ran extremely well to finish in fourth place
