Leevale sent a large squad of athletes to Belfast to compete in the Irish Indoor Athletics Championship on Jan 26th & 27th. Ailis Mc Sweeney is showing great form again and comfortably won the women’s 60m, while Derek Duff made it a double by winning the men’s 60m. Carl McNamara ran a fine race to take 3rd in the Men’s 200m and Jessika Zebo finished the medal haul with a very strong run in the women’s 400m finishing 3rd. Four place medals including two national titles is a fantastic achievement for the club. Well done.
This was a great experience for all the athletes who attended and most were rewarded with PB’s.
