There was an entry of almost 400 at the first of the Ballycotton Summer Series races at Ballyandreen tonight. Monday’s Cork City Marathon was the aim for many, the 5 miler serving as a perfect pre-race blowout. James Grufferty and Jessica Vonhatten were Leevale’s top finishers. Jessica finished second in the women’s race to Eagle’s Rhona Lynch, while James finished 4th in the men’s event.
