As a result of her wonderful performance and fourth place finish at the World Athletic Championships, Derval O’Rourke was awarded Cork athlete of the month for September. This award is sponsored jointly by the Evening Echo, Cork 96FM, Cork (Jurys) Hotel and the Cork City Sports. Derval’s father Terry accepted the award on her behalf from Dick Hodgins Chairman of the Cork City Sports.
