Leevale juvenile athletes competed at the National Indoor Juvenile competition over the weekend.
Jack Murphy had the performance of the meet by smashing the boys under 12 national indoor high jump record. Jack won the competition at 1.31m and then went on to repeatedly break the 1.33m record by clearing 1.34m, 1.37m and finally 1.40m.
On the track Chelsie Wright ran a strong race against stiff competition to win the GU12 60m, while Emma O’Brien finished a very close second in the GU14 60m.
In the older age groups Kate Humphries finished third in the GU18 300m. Patrick Maher stamped his authority on the BU18 400m, winning in a very impressive time of 51.09.
On Sunday Edmond O’Halloran gave an exhibition of hurdle technique to win the BU18 60mH.
This rounds up Leevale’s indoor season and based on the athletes strong performances we are looking forward to a very productive outdoor season which commences with the Leevale Open Sports on April 19th.
