The Munster juvenile U13-U17 championships were held in Nenagh over the weekend. The turnout of Leevale athletes was down considerably this year. The athletes who travelled found a strong level of competition and medals were hard come by.
Emma O’Brien had the Leevale performance of the weekend, winning the Girls U14 60m in style. In the girls U13 Marie O’Halloran finished second in the sprint hurdles and third in the 60m, while Ciara Nalty cleared 1.25m to finish joint second in the Girls U13 high jump. Darren Lee ran well in the heats of the Boys U14 60m, only to be disqualified in the final. However he had some consolation when he finished third in the long jump. Rebecca Corbett finished a close second in the Girls U17 60m.
