The U9-U12 and the U18-U19 Munster Juvenile Indoor Championships were held in Nenagh over the weekend. A strong contingent of Leevale athletes traveled and the results were good. Adam Idah almost had a clean sweep in the Boys U9 winning both the 60m and Long Jump, he finished a strong second in the 300m. Chelsie Wright won the GU12 60m and Hannah Humphries finished third in the girls U11 long jump.
In the boys U12 Jack Murphy won the long jump and finished third in the high jump, while Matthew Murnane finished third in Boys U12 600m. Both Jack and Matthew teamed up with Sean O Callaghan, Ian O’Sullivan and Harry Shanahan to finish second in the boys U 12 4x100m Relay.
In the older age groups Kate Humphries had and excellent double, winning both the 200m & 300m at girls U18. Patrick Maher set a championship best winning the boys U18 400m in a time of 51.59. Patrick also finished second in the 60m & 200m events. David Killeen ran a strong 60m finishing third in a time of 7.48 seconds.
Paul Stack & Chris Murnane finished joint second in the Boys U19 200m, they subsequently teamed up with David Killeen and Patrick Maher to win the Boys U19 4x200m relay.
