Athletics Ireland has arranged a number of coaching courses for the Cork region over the coming months. These are excellent courses, which bring a formalised structure to athletics coaching. ASSISTANT COACHING COURSE:
This course is ideal for parents who would like to get involved and give a hand at training sessions. It introduces attendees to the basics of coaching sprints, endurance, throws and jumps.
Wed 30th Sept & Wed 7th Oct, Cork IT: 6.15 – 10pm Both Nights.
This course is designed for people who have attended the Athletics Leader or Assistant Coaching. The course takes place over two weekends and provides a qualification for people interested in general coaching work with children between the ages of 10 to 14.
Friday 13th & Saturday 14th Nov Part 1 Cork IT 6pm – 10pm and 9.30am – 5pm
Friday 27th & Saturday 28th Nov Part II Cork IT 6pm – 10pm and 9.30am – 5pm
Level 2 coaches are qualified to coach in at least two of the following four disciplines: sprints, endurance, throws, jumps. Level 2 coaches are also qualified to specialise in specific events.
