Derval O’Rourke was in action this evening in the the first of the 100m hurdles semi-finals at the European Championships in Barcelona. In a closely-contested race, she ran magnificently to finish 3rd in a blanket finish in another season’s best of 12.75 and comfortably qualify for the final. Derval is reaching top form just at the right time, and should be well in with a shout of the medal in the final later tonight.
Yesterday, Deval competed in the first round of the 100m hurdles and looked very impressive, winning the race in a time of 12.88. Derval, a championship specialist, was fast out the blocks and looked very crisp over the hurdles.
