Carmel Parnell had a superb run in today’s Munster Senior & Junior Cross Country Championships, coming through exceptionally strongly to finish 4th in the senior women’s event. In doing so, she led the Leevale ladies to bronze medals in the team competition, behind Eagle and St. Finbarr’s.
Thomas Maunsell was the first Leevale finisher in the senior men’s event in 16th, running a very strong race throughout. Barry Donovan and James Grufferty ran together for much of the race and weren’t far back in 20th and 26th respectively. The Leevale men’s team, weakened by injuries, finished 5th overall.
