Leevale boys U9 won the team event at the Munster Juvenile Uneven Age Championships in Charleville today. Led home by Eoin Heaney in seventh place, the other team members were Riain Brennan, Tommy Connolly, Craig Keane & Darragh Brennan. Eoin, Tommy & Riain also scored on the wining Cork team.
In the U13 boys race, Matthew Murnane and Barry Shanahan were scoring members of the Cork team who finished first.
Louise Shanahan had a very strong run in the GU15 race to finish in a very impressive third place. She was also the second scoring member of the winning Cork team.
Philip Crowley and Chris Mintern ran in the BU17 race. Training together is helping these athletes, with Philip finishing fourth and Chris sixth. Both were scoring members of the winning Cork team.
At intermediate level Leevale ladies won the team event and Leevale men were placed third. Intermediate ladies: Sinéad O’Connor 5th, Jess VonHatten 9th, Carol Finn 17th and Ciara Mangan 34th. Intermediate men: Thomas Maunsell 8th, Chris Harrington 12th, James Grufferty 27th and Robbie Williams 40th.
