Two road races due to be held this weekend in Cork have been postponed due to the wintry conditions. Neither the Shanagarry 5K and Newmarket\Kanturk 5 mile races will go ahead as planned. The organisers of the Shanagarry race now hope to run the event on Christmas Eve at 12:30 pm, while it is hoped that a suitable later date will be found to run the Newmarket\Kanturk event.
