Several of Leevale’s distance runners were in action this weekend. Nollaig Hunter made a welcome return to the roads in the Bay Run Bantry-Glengarriff Half Marathon, where she finished 2nd in 1:29.11.

Also in action, this time in the Joey Hannan Memorial Olympic distance triathlon in Limerick, was Owen Cummins. Prior to joining Leevale, Owen was an accomplished triathlete, last year finishing 11th in the event. Since joining Donie Walsh’s group his running has improved hugely, as evidenced by a sub-56 minute performance in the Dungarvan 10 in January. The winter’s long runs and track sessions paid off at this year’s event, as he romped home to win the event outright.
