Records for Leevale at U9-U13 Munster Indoor Championships

Leevale athletes enjoyed great competition at the Munster Indoor U9-U13 Championships over the weekend. Many of the young athletes had their first taste of competition. Performances were good and the experience gained was invaluable.

Adam Idah and Chloe McCarthy set new Munster Records in their respective 60m sprints. Adam set a new championship best performance of 9.46, while Chloe set a new championship best performance of 9.70 seconds.

Adam Idah had a clean sweep in the Boys U10 events winning the 60m, 300m and long jump events. Jack Murphy also won three individual medals in the Boys U13, 1st in long jump, 2nd in the 60m hurdles and 3rd in the high jump. Sean O’Callaghan showed great form to win the BU13 60m. Chloe McCarthy and Chelsie Wright both sprinted extremely well to win the U10 & U13 60m sprints. Matthew Murnane ran a very strong 600m race to take a comfortable second place.
Special mention for Gabriella Chisholm who finished just outside the medals in the G11 long jump, Gabriella was winning the event until the last round. Tyreik Wright, was unlucky to finish just outside the medals in the BU10 long jump and 60m sprint.
