The sun shone in Youghal yesterday for Leevale athletes, many of who were competing in their first triathlon. This was a great day out for the athletes and supporters and was topped off by some excellent individual and team performances.
Lizzie Lee won the women’s individual event and the Leevale women team won the relay event. Rosaleen McKeown – swim, Áine Murphy cycle, Jess Vonhatten run.
Chris Mintern’s triathlon career continues to go from strength to strength and he finished second overall in the men’s event. The Leevale senior men’s team won the relay event with a faster time than the overall winner. Stephen Devine – swim, Owen Cummins – cycle, Ryan Creech – run.
