A small number of Leevale athletes were in action today at the National Inter-Country Cross Country Championships which took place at Sligo Racecourse. Top finisher on the day was Mark Hanrahan in 5th in a race won by Joe Sweeney of Dublin. Mark scored on the Cork team that finished 3rd.
In the senior women’s event, Lizzie Lee, who had been in contention early on, finished 6th and Michelle Finn wasn’t far behind her in 8th. Sinéad O’Connor had a decent run to finish 36th. Both Lizzie and Michelle were members of the winning Cork team.
