It was a great day for Leevale in Tullamore at the AAI Juvenile Relay championships, winning a total of four relays and finishing third in a further two.
Team of the day was the GU19, winning both the 4x100m and 4×400 relays in empathic style. Team: Jessica Sheehan, Caroline Murnane, Christine Neville and Jessica Neville.
The GU14 went into the final having posted the fastest time in the heat. A well balanced team, they had a great race to take a comfortable victory in the 4x100m. Team: Laura Murphy, Rachel Smith, Taylor Murphy, Chelsie Wright and Eimear Hallihan.
GU15 fought hard for a great victory in their 4x100m relay. Team: Laura McCarthy, Alison Burke, Louise Shanahan, Marie O’Halloran & Grainne Kerrisk.
BU14: Luke Ring was unable to run due to a broken arm, however the team of Jack Murphy, Barry Shanahan, Matthew Murnane and Sean O’Callaghan ran a strong race to take the bronze medals.
The final medals were won by the BU17 when they took bronze in the 4x400m relay. Team: John O’Brien, Denis O’Sullivan, Robert Nagle and John O’Brien.
Overall it was a very enjoyable day for all the athletes and huge support who traveled to Tullamore. Well done to everyone.
