It was a great night for Leevale at the Carrigtwohill 5K road race last night with some fantastic performances all round. It was a particularly satisfying night for Chris Harrington, who got a long-overdue and well deserved victory, winning on the night by some 7 seconds from George Waugh. Chris Mintern, back from his triathlon exploits, was just another 8 seconds further back in 3rd. Tim Twomey and Brian Hegarty weren’t far back in 5th and 6th, and with James Gruffery 10th, Leevale had 4 in the top 6 and 5 in the top 10.
It was also a great night for the Leevale women – the winner on the night was Michelle Finn, who prevailed in a tight battle with Rhona Lynch. Michelle has been in flying form recently. Niamh Walsh of Leevale was third. Ann Moore also had a good win in the F45 category.
