The first running of the Bandon 10K and Half Marathon was held on Saturday. The 10K race resulted in a double for Leevale, with Chris Harrington taking the men’s title in 34:07, and Nollaig Hunter the women’s in 40:15. For good measure, Brian Hegarty took 2nd overall in 34:55.

In the Rising Sun AC Straight Mile, held yesterday evening in Ballinhassing, John Shine and James Grufferty had strong runs, taking 2nd and 3rd behind Ed Murphy.
