Lizzie Lee, who was just beaten into second at last year’s event, went one better this year, taking overall honours at the Cork Ladies’ Mini-Marathon which was held today on the Marina\Centre Park Road circuit. It was a great win for Lizzie, who prevailed in a tight finish with Claire McCarthy of St. Finbarr’s. There has been little to separate the two athletes in recent races.
It was a good day overall for the Leevale ladies, with Carmel Parnell and Niamh Walsh also featuring in the top 12.
