Saturday was a very long day with the relays not finishing until 7pm, due to the large entry in some events. Nonethless, there were some good Leevale performances.
Chloe McCarthy was a very impressive 1st in U11 60m and 2nd in Long Jump.
Gabriella Chisholm finished 3rd in U12 Long Jump and was very unlucky to miss out on the place in the 60m final, having initially qualified in 2nd from her semi, but losing out in a re-run.
Katelyn Coffey ran a courageous 600m, leading from the start, but was pipped on the line finishing 4th fastest time overall. She also finished 4th in the 60m sprint.
The girls U11 team reached the relay final and were leading when they dropped the baton at the final handover. So, even the best relay team in the country can drop the baton!
