Road Running / Marathon Seminar on Wednesday May 25th

Mahers Sports are holding a second and final FREE Road Running / Marathon Seminar on Wednesday May 25th from 7-9pm in their Oliver Plunkett St Store.
With just two weeks to go to the Bord Gais Cork City Marathon the seminar will focus on what you should be doing between now and race day, the actual race day itself and the days and weeks after the marathon. This time we will also have an expert on nutrition Dr. Joanne Fearon. The seminar will suit all levels from those doing the Relay to Half Marathon to the Full Marathon.
This may interest some of your groups /colleagues so I would appreciate if you could forward it to these groups or perhaps put it up on your intranet/notice boards. Please let me know if you would rather not receive this information.

Guest Speakers include:
Dr. Joanne Feraon (Food graduate development programme manager, UCC) Joanne is also a marathon, ultra marathon and Ironman triathlete.

Peter Maher (Former Olympic Marathoner) Peter is a physical therapist based in carrigaline. He has completed 50 marathons with 19 victories and often writes for The Irish Runner.

Shane Simcox Msc: (Masters in Exercise and Nutrition Science) Shane has 25 years experience in Athletics. He also is a qualified Fitness Trainer working with Cork Minor hurlers and GAA Underage Development Squads.

Donie Walsh: ( former Irish Olympic marathoner) Head athletic coach for UCC and Leevale athletic club in distance. Donie coaches anywhere from 800m to marathon distance.

At this stage you may have questions about the marathon and this is the ideal venue to ask some very experienced athletes. Although all have marathon experience, all information will also be relevant for those completing shorter distances.

This is the last seminar before the Cork Marathon.
