South Munster Schools T&F Day 1 Results

There were a number of good results for Leevale athletes competing for their schools at the first day of the South Munster T&F Championships at CIT yesterday.

In the senior girls’ events, the Neville twins had a 1-2 in the 400m hurdles, Jessica just edging it. Caroline Murnane had a good win in the long jump. There was also a Leevale 1-2 in the inter boys’ 3K, Chris Mintern edging out Philip Crowley in 9:30. There were also intermediate wins for Ryan Casey in the triple jump and Robert Nagle in the 400m hurdles. In the inter girls, Aisling Hanrahan took silver in the 800m.

In the junior categories, there was a sprint hurdles win for Jack Murphy and a 1-2 in the 800m from Louise Shanahan and Eirne Ní Dheasmhunaigh. Marie O’Halloran also took a silver in the sprint hurdles. The junior girls’ relay was won by St. Angela’s, comprising Laura McCarthy, Rachel Smith, Ali Bruce, and Alison Burke, all Leevale athletes! Luke Horgan was a medal winner in the minor boys’ age group, with a silver in the 800m.
