Ciarán Ó Lionáird was in action again at the weekend, this time over 800m at the Alex Wilson Invitational in Indiana. No doubt Ciarán was using this as a sharpening-up session ahead of the World Indoors next weekend where he will compete in the 1500m. Ciarán had a great run, finishing up with the second-fastest time overall and a new 800m PB of 1:48.40.
Meanwhile Ryan Creech was named Southland Conference Freshman of the Year at the weekend. Ryan is on scholarship at Lamar University, Texas and has had a very solid opening indoor season. It is good to see Ryan going well after being plagued by injuries for a number of years.
