AAI Juvenile Championships Day 3 Results

The 2012 AAI Juvenile Championships have been very successful for Leevale athletes and this success continued into Day 3.

The first medal of the day went to Jessica Sheehan in the GU19 long jump. Jess jumped an outdoor PB of 5.50m to take silver in this event. Unfortunately a knee injury prevented her from competing in the 200m.

Luke Horgan ran well in a fast BU16 1500m to take a well deserved 3rd place. Philip Crowley competed in the BU19 1500m. Philip’s progress this year has been substantial under the watchful eye of his coach Donie Walsh. Philip took third place in this event.

Luke Ring backed up his win in the BU15 100m with a second place finish in the 200m.

Luke Hickey won gold in the BU19 Walk.

James Heffernan took silver in the BU19 hammer with a throw of 39.56m. Andre Christie was 3rd in the BU15 hammer with a throw of 36.88m. It is great to see Leevale athletes medalling at national level in the throws events. This is testament to the structures put in place by the throws coaches.
