Dennis O’Sullivan to run in Olympic Stadium, thanks to Powerade

Leevale athlete Dennis O’Sullivan was the lucky winner of the “Personal Best in the London 2012 Olympic Stadium with Powerade” draw.
Over fifty athletes entered the Munster Powerade 100m Challenge, which was hosted by Leevale AC. Conditions were ideal; the sun was shining and the tail wind was legal. This was a very enjoyable event for everyone who attended. The ages and ability of the participating athletes were varied, which added to the fun of the occasion.

Every participant received a Powerade ION4 Sports Bottle and many of the performance athletes made use of the Hydration Testing which was provided by a Powerade Sports Scientist.

Highlight of the day was the draw for the “Personal Best in the London 2012 Olympic Stadium with Powerade”. Powerade offered Denis a trip to London with a guest to run a 100m on the track at the London 2012 Olympic Stadium, with the fastest runners setting their own ‘Personal Bests’ in the stadium that will host the track and field events at this summer’s Olympics. Dennis will also get expert advice and training techniques from Jessica Ennis’s coach, Tony Minichiello.

Cork race walker and Olympian, Robbie Heffernan was on hand make the draw.
