The second weekend of action at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships got underway today at Nenagh. There were a couple of great wins for Leevale athletes, most notably Louise Shanahan and Jessica Sheehan.
Louise ran an excellent tactical race, taking the lead for the first time on the back straight and sprinted to the finish a clear winner in a time of 2:16.84 and celebrated her victory in style. She waited until the last round to pull out a personal best jump of 5.52m to win the competition. Shortly afterwards Jessica finish fourth in the 200m.
Matthew Murnane ran brave race to achieve a PB of 2:13.16 in the BU15 800m, finishing just outside the medals in fourth place.
