Mark Hanrahan and Clare McSweeney were among the large Irish contingent that travelled to the British Milers’ Club meet at Manchester last Saturday. Both ran very well and set season’s best performances. Mark ran 3:48 to finish 3rd in the ‘C’ race of the 1500m. That he did this in spite of a poor 3rd lap shows he has plenty more in the tank. Clare McSweeney is getting back to something like her best form and should be well pleased with her 2:09 time in finishing 2nd in the 800m ‘B’ race. One of her training partners, Laura Crowe of An Riocht, finished 5th in the ‘A’ race with an impressive 2:05.
