There were no fewer than 4 road races on in Cork over the St. Patrick’s Day weekend with Leevale athletes in action at most of them. In Ballinhassig on Saturday, Donal Coffey was the club’s first finisher in 8th place. At the BHAA\Janssen 4 miler in Little Island on Sunday, Mark Hanrahan had a easy win by almost 2 minutes. It was a close battle for second between John Shine and Roy Fahy, with John just shading it. Both runners clocked 20:58. There was a big Leevale showing at today’s Mallow 10 miler. Colm Moore has been going very well in recent weeks and he upped his performance again today with a good 55:46 to finish 12th, the club’s top finisher on the day.
Further afield, Lizzie Lee was in action at the St. Patrick’s Festival 5K race in Dublin where she finished second to Sara Louise Treacy in 16:51.
