Weather conditions were pleasant in Tullamore for the Tailteann Games, leading to some impressive performances throughout the day.
Sam Healy entered new territory when he jumped 6.97m in the fifth round of the long jump and followed up with a jump of 7.06m in the final round, his first time over 7m.
Sam completed a good double when he won the 100m hurdles in a time of 13.05, another new PB for him.
One of the closest finishes of the day came in the girls 800m where Alanna Lally held the lead throughout the race and successfully held off the challenge of Louise Shanahan.
Luke Horgan also ran a strong race to take second in the boys 1500m in 4:11.09.
