Leevale’s Claire McCarthy has been selected on the Irish team to compete in an international trail race in the Lake District on 9 June. Claire, who is new to the mountain running scene, has been training with Donie Walsh’s distance group for a number of months. With Lizzie Lee and Claire McSweeney also in the group, Leevale now has a very strong women’s distance team who can hopefully drive each other to even greater success.
