A number of Leevale athletes were in action for their schools at yesterday’s T&F championships in Tullamore. Jessica Sheehan came away with two medals, a gold in the senior long jump (5.29) and silver in the triple (10.92). Sam Healy was another medallist, taking the inter long jump title with a jump of 6.69 and silver in the 100mH in 13.31. Conor O’Driscoll also took silver in the junior 800m in 2:05, and Louise Shanahan continued her good recent form, her 2:12 good enough for 2nd in the inter 800m.
There were bronze medals for Jayne Pennefather in the inter 300mH and Katie Waterman in the senior 200m. There were good performances also from Jack Murphy (4th inter HJ), Karen Twomey (5th inter 3K), Conor Walter (7th senior 800m), Robert Nagle (6th senior HJ), and Ryan Casey (8th, senior TJ).
