Racewalking in Cork is on a high at the moment following Rob Heffernan’s great win in the summer, and his setting up of the international training group in Cork.
Two of his group had wins in the men’s events at the AAI road championships that were held in Raheny yesterday. Alex Wright, the GB athlete who has just declared for Ireland, won the 30K senior men’s event, while Leevale’s Luke Hickey had an impressive win in the 20K race.
